Profile of Mr. Willie van Wyk (CEO Okusha Group):
Willie van Wyk has walked a path to where he is today. Born in Bloemfontein,
Free State Region, South Africa, he started
out in the electrical industry / field in 1980 (31 years ago)
1985 - Qualified as an Electrician.
1989 – Accredited as an Installation Electrician with the ECA.
1989 – 1991 –Electro Mechanical Technician – Atlas Aircraft Corporation.
1991 – 1993 – J E Van Wyk and Son Electrical Contractors.
1994 – Moved to Standerton.
1994 – Electrician – Wool Textile Manufacturers.
1997 – Workshop Manager – Wool Textile Manufacturers.
1998 – Textile Diploma – Trained in Italy and Germany.
1998 – 1999 – Spinning Manager – Wool Textile Manufacturers.
In 2000 he started a supply business – selling clothes, chemicals, soaps etc.
to local schools, business etc.
In those days the wool and material production industry was down on its
knees and Wool Textile manufacturers stopped production and closed its doors
in 2002.
To make a living Willie started delivering milk in the Standerton area –
earning a small income.
In 2003 he started working for a local Electrical Contractor as an
Electrician, until November 2005, at which time he started
his own business / businesses, of which the detail has been explained above.

Okusha Group
Overview – From Then To Now:
Mr. Willie van Wyk founded
OKUSHA ELECTRICAL CC in Standerton, Mpumalanga region, South Africa on 1
November 2005.
After having worked for a local electrical contractor for a number of years,
Willie decided to take a big step and started his own business venture. At
first it was just himself, Ivann his son (who had just recently
matriculated), an electrical assistant and a leased bakkie with only
twenty thousand rand in the bank.
Starting out in business is never easy, especially when there are no fixed
contracts or a constant flow of income.
In the early days the focus of the business was mostly on domestic work,
consisting mainly of domestic installations, etc.
By the end of 2005, Okusha Electrical CC secured its first large contract
with Mpumalanga Pipeline Contractors.
Within three months the business had grown to the stage where they needed to
acquire a second bakkie, and in the months thereafter a third bakkie was
acquired.
By the end of 2006, they had four vehicles on the road, and their staff
compliment had grown to a total of fourteen employees.
In 2007 Okusha Electrical CC entered the world of Modular Buildings.
In 2009 the Okusha Group was formed and currently has twelve vehicles out on
the road and their staffs complement stands at a total of sixty employees.
Today the main focus of Okusha Electrical CC is on Factory Maintenance and
the Modular Building Installation Industry, with ninety percent of their
income being generated from outside the Standerton area. This is a huge
injection for the economy of Standerton.

The Okusha Group:
Along with Okusha Electrical
CC there are three other companies in the group – they are: Okusha Generator
and Truck Hire CC, Quintax 83 and Okusha Property One.
Okusha Electrical CC (Shop) first opened its doors in Flora Park, Standerton
in the middle of 2006.
In July 2008 the shop moved to the Junxion Shopping Centre, where clients could find a
larger and much upgraded shop. Due to a shift in focus towards Construction
/ Contract work (which includes international contracts), it was decided to
close the Electrical Appliance shop to the public with effect from
17/12/2010, as it became too far removed from its core business.

Okusha Generator and Truck Hire CC:
The Okusha Generator and Truck hire
CC started business in August 2008, with
their primary objective to hire – out and transport generators.
They also have a ten ton Hino truck equipped with a crane and certain
equipment that is available for hire, such as
Scaffolding and a comprehensive range of Hilti tools.

Villa Amour Guest House CC:
The Villa Amour Guest House
cc started business in February 2007.
Situated at the corner of Walter Sisulu drive and Kruger Street in
Standerton, the guesthouse was ideally positioned for
the business traveler. The guesthouse prided itself on professional service
with a warm country feel.
As from 11 February 2011, the guesthouse was converted into an office
facility and currently houses the group offices.

Quintax 83 CC:
In 2010, the Okusha Group was
proud to announce that it had formed a Black Empowerment Company under the
name of
Quintax 83, with a fifty one percent Black shareholder.
